Man, 28, shot in leg near playground in Northwest Baltimore

A 28-year-old man was shot in the leg near Penhurst Park in Northwest Baltimore on Wednesday, police said.

Police were called to the 4600 block of Garrison Boulevard, which borders the small park’s playground and swingset, about 6:15 p.m., the department said in a news release.

Officers began canvassing the area and found “evidence of a shooting,” and moments later, they were alerted of a walk-in shooting victim at a nearby hospital. Police did not provide the victim’s condition or identity, nor did they say whether Northwest District Shooting detectives have identified any suspects.
