Baltimore Police: Two dead, three injured in spate of overnight shootings

Two males were killed and three others injured in four nighttime shooting incidents, Baltimore Police wrote in emails shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday.

On Tuesday night, at approximately 11 p.m., Northwest District officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Haddon Ave. in Grove Park to investigate a shooting.

Officers observed two men, 51 and 35 years old, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to area hospitals. The 51-year-old was pronounced dead by medical personnel, police said.

Homicide detectives were summoned and assumed control over the investigation. Detectives learned that the victims were shot after a dispute, a news release said.

At about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Central District officers were called to the 700 block of W. Saratoga St. in the University of Maryland neighborhood near downtown to investigate a shooting.

Officers observed a male of an unidentified age suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel, a release said. Homicide detectives were summoned and assumed control over the investigation.

At 6:48 p.m. Tuesday, Southeast District officers were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Curley St. in Ellwood Park/Monument to investigate a shooting.

At about 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, Northeast District officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Ramona Ave. in Belair-Edison to investigate a shooting.

Officers observed a 19-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. A ambulance transported him to an area hospital.

Northeast District detectives were summoned and assumed control over the investigation.
