One person shot, another fatally stabbed in separate incidents in Baltimore on Monday

A person was shot and another was fatally stabbed in separate incidents in Baltimore on Monday, police said.

Baltimore Police said they were called to the Washington Hill neighborhood for a report of a cutting around 6:50 p.m.

When officers arrived in the Southeast Baltimore neighborhood in the 200 block of S. Ballou Court they found a 39-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body.

Police said the man was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Detectives said they believe the man was arguing with someone inside a dwelling when the suspect stabbed the man several times. Police said the suspect was apprehended but did not disclose a name.

Homicide detectives are investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 410-396-2100 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.

A few hours after the stabbing, SWAT officers responded to the 2300 block of E. Chase St. for a ShotSpotter alert.

Police said that when they arrived in East Baltimore’s Biddle Street neighborhood, they saw a man being assisted into a vehicle.

Officers followed the car to an area hospital and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Police did not disclose the condition of the man.

Earlier Monday, Baltimore police shot and killed a person in an exchange of gunfire that also wounded an officer, Commissioner Michael Harrison said.
