A 21-year-old man died Wednesday after he was shot near Mondawmin Mall, police said.

Baltimore police spokesman Detective Donny Moses said Wednesday night that the man died from his injuries after he was taken to the hospital.


Department spokeswoman Niki Fennoy said officers responded to the 2700 block of Reisterstown Road in Liberty Square in Northwest Baltimore shortly after 1:30 p.m. When police arrived they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his body.

Police have not identified a suspect or the victim in the shooting.

Also Wednesday, homicide detectives from the Eastern District are investigating a shooting in which a man was found shot in the head.

The department wrote on Facebook that officers were called to the 800 block of E. Chase St. at 7:22 p.m. for a shotspotter alert.

Upon arriving, they found an unidentified adult man who’d been shot in the head, the department wrote.

He was taken to the hospital and was critical condition late Wednesday night. Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting because of the severity of the man’s injuries.
