Five wounded in shootings Sunday, including incident at a downtown Baltimore hotel, police say

Five men were injured in shootings across Baltimore City on Sunday, including an incident inside a downtown hotel, police said.

Officers first responded to the 4900 block of Reisterstown Road in Northwest Baltimore for a shooting around 1:08 a.m. A 33-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso, police said.

A witness told officers the gunman approached the victim on foot and opened fire. The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, according to police.

About 25 minutes later, officers responded to a shooting inside of the Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown-Inner Harbor, in the 100 block of West Fayette St.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting but no victim.

“Moments later, officers were dispatched to an area hospital where two shooting victims walked in seeking medical attention,” police said in a news release. “A 19 year-old male had been shot in the face and is in critical condition and a 26 year-old male had gunshot wounds to his body. He is currently in serious condition.”

A hotel representative in Baltimore declined to comment on the shooting. It’s unclear where in the hotel the shooting occurred.

Central District shooting detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information can call 410-396-2411.

A third overnight shooting occurred at home in the 4800 block of Burland Ave. in Northeast Baltimore. Officers were dispatched to the home for a reported burglary around 5:07 a.m. Police found evidence of a shooting but no victim.

Officers later found out the victim was a 57-year-old man who was shot in his calf and was en route to an area hospital.

Northeast District shooting detectives are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information on this shooting to call 410-396-2444.

Later Sunday afternoon, officers responded to 9th Street at Patapsco Avenue in the Brooklyn neighborhood in South Baltimore for a shooting call. While on the way to the scene, police were called to an area hospital where they were told that a shooting victim was at the hospital. When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm, police said.

Southern District officers are investigating the shooting and have not identified a suspect or motive.
