A 41-year-old man was killed in a shooting Monday afternoon, Baltimore Police said.
Police arrived at the 1500 block of East Lanvale Street in Oliver in East Baltimore at about 2:25 p.m. and found the man, who has been identified as 41-year-old Kelvin Jackson, with gunshot wounds.
Jackson died at the scene after Baltimore City medics attempted to save him, police said.
About five hours later, Baltimore Police said, a man riding a dirt bike in Northeast Baltimore also was also shot. Officers were called to the 4800 block of Frankford Avenue in Frankford at about 7:10 p.m.
Police said the man was riding along the 4600 block of White Avenue in Cedmont when an unknown suspect shot him in the buttocks. Baltimore City medics brought the man to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Riding dirt bikes on Baltimore’s streets is illegal, but this summer riders may use a lot owned by the B&O Railroad Museum through a partnership with Baltimore organization B-360, which teaches youth the science of dirt biking.
Detectives are investigating both shootings. Anyone with related information is asked to call 410-396-2100 or call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
