21-year-old man dies a day after shooting, Baltimore police say; officials ID 8 other homicide victims

A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead Tuesday, a day after he was shot in Northwest Baltimore, according to police.

Officers identified the man as Preston Rich Jr., who was shot in the head in the 2200 block of Ruskin Ave. Police found Rich suffering from shooting injuries around 1:56 p.m. Monday.

Rich was taken to the hospital where he was in critical and unstable condition, police initially said. He succumbed to his wounds Tuesday.

On Wednesday, police also identified eight other homicide victims, some who were killed over the last four days in the city.

Eddie Wycoff, 52, and Joseph Washington, 34, both were identified in separate fatal shootings that occurred on April 27. Wycoff was killed in the 1500 block of Shellbanks Road while Washington was killed in the 5300 block of Sinclair Lane, according to police.

Lamar Judd, 21, was identified as a homicide victim following a Saturday shooting in the 3300 block of Garrison Blvd.

Two victims from a Sunday double shooting, John Thomas, 21, and Marcquis Wilson, 25, were killed in the 600 block of Mt. Holly St. in West Baltimore, according to police.

Tai’jhia Westbrook, 21, was killed in the 100 block of S. Monroe St. on Monday. Two men, Benjamin Barlow, 44, and Calvin Frost, 31, were identified as homicide victims in separate shooting incidences from Tuesday, police said.
