Two men arrested and charged with murder for Southwest Baltimore shooting earlier this month

Police have arrested and charged two men with first- and second-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of a 31-year-old in Southwest Baltimore’s Beechfield neighborhood earlier this month.

Cadeem Green and Daqwan Sawyer, two 23-year-old city residents, were arrested and charged with murdering Danny Henson on May 4, the department wrote in a news release.

Around 2:30 a.m. on May 4, officers were dispatched to the 5100 block of Williston Street for a report of an unresponsive person and found Hensonwith an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Green and Sawyer were arrested this week and have been charged with murder along with a handful of assault and weapons charges, court records show.

The department did not say whether they had discovered a motive for the killing.

It is not clear whether the two have retained attorneys. Court records state that Green has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 15 while Sawyer’s is set for June 24.
