18-year-old fatally shot in North Baltimore, police say

An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night in the Cold Spring neighborhood in North Baltimore, police said

Baltimore police said they responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim. When they arrived, officers found 18-year-old Gary Williams suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Williams was immediately taken to surgery but he later died, according to police.

Police say the shooting incident happened in the 4700 block of Yellowwood Ave.

The fatal shooting came just a few hours after police said they found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds to his body in North Baltimore’s Harwood neighborhood.

Baltimore Police said they were called to the 2700 block of Greenmount Ave. for a ShotSpotter alert around 8:55 p.m. The man was transported to an area hospital, police said, where he later died.

Close to four hours before this shooting, three men were injured in an incident in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood in Northeast Baltimore, police said

Police say a 20-year-old male suffered from two graze wounds to his leg while the two other males suffered lacerations to the arm and chest.

Police say the shooting happened in the 2000 block of East 30th St.

There have been 71 homicides in Baltimore this year, matching the total at the same time last year, according to Baltimore police. There have been 141 non-fatal shootings this year compared to 145 this time last year.
