A man dies after being one of three hit during a Tuesday night triple shooting in South Baltimore, police say

A triple shooting in South Baltimore Tuesday night left one man dead, Baltimore police said on Wednesday.

The shooting, which occurred in the 3500 block of South Hanover St. of the Brooklyn neighborhood around 8:10 p.m. injured three people: a 22-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman. All three were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The 28-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical personnel, according to police.

Homicide detectives assumed control over the investigation.

A total of five people had been shot across the city on Tuesday. There have been 65 homicides this year compared to 61 last year at this same date. The city has also seen a total of 126 non-fatal shootings, five more non-fatal shootings than there were at this time last year, according to Baltimore police statistics.
