The fatal shooting comes after a Memorial Day weekend in Baltimore where nine people were fatally shot in three days and another five were injured. Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said Monday that the spike in violence can be partly blamed to “retaliatory violence” between known violent offenders.

The man’s death is the second fatal shooting in the region since Saturday. Tyron McCray Bey Jr., 43, was fatally shot in the 2100 block of Baker St. on Saturday, less than two blocks away from Tuesday’s reported shooting.
