A man died in a shooting in North Baltimore and a 72-year-old woman was shot in the chest in West Baltimore less than a half-hour later in separate incidents, police say.
Officers found a man who’d been shot in the head in the Pen Lucy neighborhood while responding to a report of a shooting in the area of the 600 block of Wyanoke Ave. at 4:15 p.m., the department wrote in a news release.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man was found shot in the groin and leg, police said. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have identified neither the victim nor a suspect in the shooting.

Less than 20 minutes later, at 4:37 p.m., officers responding to a report of a shooting in the Coppin Heights neighborhood and found a 72-year-old woman who’d been shot in the “chest area.”
Police wrote that officers located the woman while responding to a call of a shooting in the 1600 block of N. Smallwood St. and said that while she was shot, the woman “was conscious and alert when she was transported to an area hospital.”
Police have not identified a suspect in the shooting.
