Baltimore police: 1-year-old girl’s death ruled a homicide

Baltimore homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 1-year-old girl Saturday after police said doctors noticed the child’s head was bruised.

Kylia Moore died June 20, officials said. Officers were initially called to a Yale Heights home in southwest Baltimore for a report of a child who was unconscious and vomiting.

Police wrote that officers went to a residence in the 4400 block of Eldone Road around 8:52 p.m. and found medics already aiding the child.

The 1-year-old was taken to the hospital where she later died, police wrote.

Doctors at the hospital noticed “slight bruising to the child’s head,” police wrote.

Police did not name a suspect in the child’s death.
