Baltimore Police are investigating reports of animal cruelty after finding two cats, one dead, last week.
The cats were found last week at the Travel Plaza, in the 5600 block of O’Donnell St. in Southeast Baltimore. Both cats had trauma to their bodies and were taken to Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter for evaluation.
A BARCS spokeswoman, Bailey Deacon, said the animals were found in a plastic shopping bag left in a dumpster. One was an adult cat named Miso, the other a kitten, dead with a zip tie around his neck.
Miso was brought to BARCS where his temperature was too low to register on a thermometer. He was placed in an incubator for warmth and then spent three days at a partnering ER clinic. His medical care was paid for by BARCS’ Franky Fund. Miso is now in foster care with a partnering clinic, Deacon said.
