Baltimore police are asking for the public's help in solving the shooting death of a 19-year-old man in North Baltimore's Glen Oaks neighborhood.

Javell Heath was found shot in the head March 27, on the grounds of the Yorkwood Apartment complex in the 1100 block of E. Belvedere Ave., according to police. Police say he was conscious but uncooperative with officers and was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he died March 29.

Police released a Metro Crime Stoppers poster offering a reward of up to $2,000 for tips in the case. They asked anyone with information to call 1-866-7LOCKUP; callers can remain anonymous.

Police also said a man shot and wounded in a triple shooting in 2005 has died from his injuries and his death added to this year's homicide total. Dion Brandon, who was 23 at the time, was shot in the 900 block of Belgian Ave., in Pen Lucy, on March 9, 2005. He died recently at age 30, police said.

Officials said the case was closed by an arrest, though court records show three counts of attempted murder and other charges against the suspect, Richard McCardell, were dropped in 2006. He was charged again in 2010 with attempted first degree murder in an unrelated case and was sentenced to 25 years in prison with all but five years suspended, records show.
