Baltimore city and school district police have arrested two girls in a group robbery and beating of a 17-year-old on Tuesday. Investigators say they are looking for more suspects.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, police say, the victim was in the 1900 block of Wheeler Ave. in West Baltimore when she was jumped by a group of girls. Footage of the violent beating was captured on video by a witness, and it was widely circulated on Facebook. Police and school investigators have been working together to identify all the girls involved, Baltimore police said.
It's not yet known what charges the two girls arrested will be facing, Baltimore police spokeswoman Lt. Sarah Connolly said. She said police hope more witnesses come forward to help investigators identify other suspects. Anyone with information can call Baltimore police Western District detectives at 410-396-2477.
