A Westminster man was charged Tuesday with sexual solicitation of a law enforcement officer posing as a minor, Maryland State Police said.
Alfredo Padilla Jr., 34, faces up to 10 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines. Court records were not yet available online Tuesday and it could not be determined if he had an attorney.
State police said they conducted a covert operation Sept. 24 in which an undercover police officer posed as a minor and communicated online with Padilla, who said he wanted to meet the minor and have sex.
On Tuesday, Padilla traveled to an undisclosed location to meet the presumed minor, then was arrested around noon.
