Man fatally shot in historic Jonestown neighborhood

A 31-year-old West Baltimore man died in the hospital after being shot early Saturday in Baltimore's Jonestown neighborhood about a block from the Shot Tower, city police said.

Officers found Raymond Gordon at 12:12 a.m. in the 900 block of Watson St. suffering a gunshot wound to the torso, according to police. Gordon, of the 1500 block of N. Carey St., was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly before 1 a.m.

No other details were disclosed. According to crime data posted on the city's OpenBaltimore website, Jonestown, a historic neighborhood that saw a facelift in the middle part of the previous decade, hasn't seen a homicide in at least five years.

Police also identified the a man who died in a triple shooting in the 600 block of Wyanoke Road Friday as Dandre Jackson, 22, of the 700 block of Lennox Street.

Two other people, aged 21 and 36, were wounded in the attack. Police said the younger man was in critical condition, while the older man's condition had stabilized.
