Man suspected in Anne Arundel murder dies after apparent suicide attempt

A Baltimore man accused in the killing of his 18-year-old girlfriend in Glen Burnie died in a hospital Sunday days after an apparent suicide attempt, Anne Arundel County police said.

Da'von Markell Mullins, 22, and Kayla Yow were found in her home Friday evening, who both had gunshot wounds to the upper body. Yow was pronounced dead on the scene, while Mullins was in critical condition in a hospital until he died Sunday, police said.

Police characterized the attack as a murder-suicide and charged Mullins with murder and a host of other charges. The two had been in a relationship, according to police.
