A Delta Air Lines flight from Baltimore was grounded Saturday morning because of “potential mechanical problems,” an airport spokesman said.
There was a “precautionary alert” for a flight that left around 6:30 a.m. from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean said. The aircraft then returned and landed safely without incident, he said.
The BWI Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department responded.
Dean did not have additional details, including flight information, the plane’s destination, or what specific mechanical issues might have been found.
A call to Delta was not immediately returned.
Capt. Russ Davies, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said that the department had units staged until released by BWI Fire Rescue Saturday morning, but he did not have more information.
