The death of a woman who was shot in 2000 and died last year has been added to the city homicide count, police said.
Felicity Shelton was 16 years old when she was shot in the back on Aug. 28, 2000 in the 700 block of W. Lexington St. A second victim, who was 30 at the time, was also injured.
Police said Shelton was paralyzed as a result of the shooting, and on Oct. 6, 2014, she died from complications related to her injuries. Police were notified last month by the state medical examiner's office that her death had been ruled a homicide, and per guidelines will be counted in this year's list.
The case remains unsolved.
No other information about Shelton was available, and an attempt to locate relatives was unsuccessful.
