Several recent murder victims identified by city police

Baltimore Police have identified several recent homicide victims who were killed during a stretch that saw more than a murder a day. With apologies to CityPaper's Murder Ink feature, a list seemed to be the best way to convey the information.

New identifications: 
July 30: Charles Johnson, 50, was found in the 1800 block of W. North Ave. around 4 a.m., lying next to the front steps of a home and suffering from a severe head injury. A wrench was found near his body. Police said they have identified possible suspects and are investigating.

July 31: Antwan Bryant, 20, was one of three victims in a shooting near the Westside Shopping Center at around 11:20 p.m. in the 2500 block of Frederick Ave., in the city's southwest police district. Police have not disclosed a motive or suspects, and the case remains open.

Aug. 3: Marvin Jones, 30, was one of two people shot near the Rosemont recreation center in the 3000 Rosedale Ct. A 42-year-old woman was also found nearby suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. Police have not disclosed a motive or suspects.

Aug. 4: Jeffery Thomas was shot to death in the 3000 block of W. Garrison Ave. at about 1:30a.m. Police list Thomas as 22 years of age, though court records indicate he was 24.

Anyone with information was asked to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
