September got off to a bloody start in Baltimore, with 10 people killed in the first nine days of the month. None of the murders have been solved, police say. Below is an account of each of the shootings, with the victims identified where possible:

September 8, 2600 Kent St. The victim in this shooting, a 38-year-old man, has not yet been identified by police. Police said he was found outside and detectives do not have a suspect or motive.

September 8: 300 Gold St. About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police found two shooting victims in the 300 block of Gold Street. A 26-year-old victim is expected to live, police said. But Maurice McCoy, 28, who neighbors said had a fiancee and young children, was pronounced dead at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center less than an hour later.

September 6: 1400 Holbrook St. Rudolph Horton, 36, was found shot on the sidewalk and died at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Police say he was chased from the 1100 block of E. Oliver St., with an unknown gunman firing shots as he gave chase. Horton was charged in 1992 at age 15 with fatally shooting a 3-year-old boy, who was hit by a stray bullet. Here's an article about that shooting by former Sun police reporter David Simon.

September 4: 5400 Seward Ave. Police say Sherron Small, 42, was shot through a basement window while lying in bed and struck in the head. He died at Johns Hopkins Bayview.

September 3: 200 S Eaton Ave: Police say a Hispanic man was robbed by three black males, and the suspects tried to flee when Jose Carranza, 32, and another man tried to box them in with his vehicle. One of the suspects fired a single shot that apparently fragmented, striking Carranza in the chest and the other man in the arm. Carranza later died from his injuries.

September 3: 5600 Frankford Ave: Andre Scott, 25, was shot in the head and killed in a parking lot of an apartment complex.

September 3: 2600 Boone St: Damon Vaughn, 21, and a 19-year-old man were shot. Police don't have a motive or suspects.
