Police search for man who stole wallet from Wegman's customer

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding a man who stole a wallet from a customer at the upscale Wegman's grocery store in Abingdon. Police said the man used the victim's credit cards to try and buy $2,000 in gift cards from a Target Store.

The theft occurred Feb. 3 between 11 a.m. and noon at the store on Wegmans Boulevard. Police said the victim's wallet was taken from her purse as she shopped. Police said he was driven away from the store in a silver Mercedes with a sunroof.

Police described the suspect as a black male with a light complexion between the ages of 30 and 50. He had a beard and was wearing a dark-colored hat with unknown emblems on all sides, dark blue jeans, a light-colored button-down shirt and a dark jacket.

Tipsters can also call Harford Crime Solvers at 1-888-540-8477 or submit a tip to Harford Crime Solvers on line. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
