New Year's Eve fight shuts down Fells Point club

Baltimore Police say a Fells Point club was shut down and one of its security employees arrested after a fight early New Year's Day.

Officers saw a fight outside the Louisiana restaurant in the 1700 block of Aliceanna St. at about 2:30 a.m., according to a police spokesman. A security employee had been struck by a bottle by an unknown person, and began ejecting patrons, police said.

"He approached some of these persons seeking altercations with them," said Det. Ruganzu Howard.

Howard said police arrested the security guard, who was not identified.

The club was shut down as a result of the incident, police said.

An earlier version of this article said the fight happened at Moby's on South Broadway, based on information from police. Police later said that was incorrect. The Sun regrets the error.
