The FBI's violent crimes task force is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in at least two recent armed robberies in the city, the most recent of which occurred Tuesday morning in Hampden, as well as several cases believed linked in Baltimore County.
Authorities believe the suspect in the Hampden robbery is also responsible for at least one other robbery and shooting at Harford Road store on Feb. 21. A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
"We are particularly interested in these robberies because of the violence shown gy the subject," said Richard Wolf, an FBI spokesman. "He has already shot one innocent victim, and has fired a shot in a second robbery. We want to get this guy off the street before he harms anyone else."
The Hampden robbery is depicted in the surveillance video posted above. Police said it occurred at about 4 a.m. at a store in the 1100 block of W. 41st St. The suspect entered the store brandishing a silver revolver and demanded that a store employee give him money from the register.
He walked behind the counter, fired a shot, and took an unknown amount of money from the register before fleeing eastbound on West 41st Street on foot.
Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 35 years old, standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a black coat with a hood, jeans, black shoes and black gloves, police said.
In the earlier shooting, police say two suspects walked into the Royal Farms in the 5200 block of Harford Rd. at about 9:40 p.m. The suspect, wearing a hooded dark jacket with orange or maroon markings, brandished a silver revolver and stole cash and cigarettes, then shot a customer after demanding his wallet.
