10 robbed in Baltimore on Christmas, Christmas Eve

Ten people were robbed across Baltimore on Christmas and Christmas Eve, according to police.

Six of the incidents occurred on Christmas Eve, including the robbery of a Holiday Inn Express in the 200 block of N. Gay St. at about 10:15 p.m. Police say an employee reported that a man robbed the front desk of cash.

Christmas Day saw four robberies. At 7:10 a.m. on Christmas Day, a 37-year-old woman standing at the bus stop at Eastern and Dundalk Avenues said a man who implied he had a gun stole her wallet and fled. At 10 a.m., a man walking in the 1100 block of W. Baltimore St. was struck in the head with a handgun by a suspect who stole his cell phone.

At 2:45 p.m.., a man and woman in the 200 block of S. Collington Ave. said they were unloading bags from a vehicle when a suspect stole the man's wallet.

Earlier, at about 1:50 a.m., a masked man with a knife robbed a 7-Eleven in the 6300 block of Eastern Ave.

Last week, police reported 84 robberies across the city, up from 62 the week before. Overall robberies were down 1 percent compared with the same time last year, with 3,800 incidents.
