14-year-old shot in Glen Burnie and taken to hospital, Anne Arundel police say

A 14-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Thursday evening after being shot in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County police said.

The teen had one gunshot wound, according to police. The boy’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Officers responded around 6:30 p.m. to the 100 block of Loyd Lane for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived in the area of the Heritage Overlook apartments, police said they found the 14-year-old inside a building and injured.

Paramedics took the boy to an area hospital.

Detectives with the police department’s Northern District Station are investigating the shooting. Police encourage anybody with information to call the investigators at 410-222-6135 or, if a caller wishes to remain anonymous, dial the county’s Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
