Anne Arundel police respond to two incidents of shots fired in Severn last week, one striking a house

Anne Arundel County police responded to two reports of shots fired, one in which a house was struck, within 24 hours in communities off of Reece Road in Severn last week.

Officers found shell casings near the intersection of Sparrow Court and Stillmeadows Drive after responding to a report of shots fired Friday around 11 p.m.

All shell casings appeared to be the same caliber, police said. A residence in the 1800 block of Blue Jay Court was struck by a bullet.

Police said they believe the suspect is a 20 to 40-year-old Black man, approximately 6 feet tall, with a muscular build who was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans.

The following day, around 9:08 p.m. officers responded for shots fired in the 8200 block of Severn Orchard Circle. Police said a silver Honda Accord drove slowly down the street and the driver of the vehicle fired several shots in the air and then sped off toward Pioneer Drive.

Police found several casings as they investigated but did not see any victims or property damage.
