Baltimore man arrested for fatally shooting 35-year-old man in Glen Burnie home

Robert Turner III, 35, of Curtis Bay, was fatally shot around 8 p.m. Monday at a house on 7520 Baleen Court in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County police arrested Cortez Artis, 26, of Baltimore, after he fled the house, police said. Officers found Turner lying inside a doorway. He was taken to University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds. Police believe the shooting was targeted.

Police located two 9 mm shell casings at the scene, according to charging documents. Artis, who witnesses told police fled the house wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, was arrested nearby the house wearing the same clothing and carrying two 9 mm handguns. Artis confessed to the shooting during an interview, police said.

Police charged Artis with first-degree and second-degree murder. He is being held without bail. It is not immediately clear if Artis has a lawyer representing him.
