While Anne Arundel Police detectives were investigating an early-morning robbery Monday, they stopped another robbery attempt at the same 7-Eleven store in Laurel.
Police said detectives were already on the scene when a 45-year-old man entered the store, located on Laurel Fort Mead Road, took merchandise and attempted to flee. A detective apprehended the suspect, who was identified as Kwame Martin from Washington D.C.
Martin was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft of less than $100. His $3,000 bail was posted Monday.
Earlier Monday morning, just after midnight, the same 7-Eleven store had been robbed at gunpoint. The suspect in that attempt was described as wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood over a red sweatshirt, a black beanie cap, and black pants.
