A man was shot and killed Wednesday morning in Laurel, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
At approximately 10:13 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the 3500 block of Russett Green East where they found an adult man suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the street. Fire department officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police believe the suspect, who fled the area in a dark sedan, and the victim were “familiar with one another.” Neither have been named.
While Wednesday’s shooting took place near a shopping center, no other injuries were reported. As homicide detectives were conducting their investigation, the nearby businesses, including a Walmart and a Sam’s Club, were open to the public.
Wednesday’s is the third homicide reported in Anne Arundel County this year.
