Two men have been arrested in connection to an armed carjacking at a gas station in Laurel last week, Anne Arundel County police said.
Calvin Bernard Williams, 40, and Darrace Raymond James, 27, were taken into custody this week and have been charged with armed robbery and carjacking, police said.
James, of Odenton, also faces conspiracy to commit armed robbery and carjacking and felony theft, assault and unlawful stealing of a motor vehicle, online court records show. He is being held without bond and does not have an attorney listed.
A Prince George’s County resident, Williams’ case does not yet appear in online court records.
On May 3, two assailants approached a person at the Exxon gas station at 3384 Laurel Fort Meade Road, police said. One man brandished a handgun and told the person not to get back into their car.
Police said the two assailants fled in the person’s black 2017 Ford Escape. Officers responded shortly thereafter, but could not find any suspects.
Williams and James face additional charges for two shoplifting incidents in Hanover and Glen Burnie, police said.
