Baltimore man dies in Hanover single-car crash

A Baltimore man is dead after losing control of his car while driving on Route 100 on Monday evening, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Police say McKinley Jasper Lipscomb III, 51, was traveling eastbound near the highway’s intersection with Harmans Road, where traffic safety investigators believe Lipscomb’s SUV traveled off the roadway several times before flipping in a wooded area at about 8:15 p.m. Monday. Lipscomb was declared deceased at the scene of the single-vehicle crash, police said.

A news release from the police department says Lipscomb was driving a 2020 Nissan Rogue, which left the roadway for an undetermined reason and almost struck a bridge before hitting a guardrail in the median, then proceeding to drive into two trees. The SUV then rolled onto its left side, police said.

Lipscomb was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, police said in a news release.
