Two men were robbed by armed men who approached their cars Friday night in incidents a few miles apart in Glen Burnie.

An Anne Arundel County police spokeswoman said detectives are investigating possible links between the two holdups. They took place about 40 minutes apart, within five miles of each other and both crimes involved two robbers, one of them armed.

In the first incident, police officers met with a man at about 9:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Braden Loop. The man told officers was in front of a friend’s house waiting in his vehicle waiting for her to come outside.

Two robbers approached his vehicle and told him they had watched him leave a nearby ATM. One of them brandished a handgun. The victim complied with the demands and the robbers ran from the area.

About 10:10 p.m., officers were called to the 200 block of Southbridge Drive where they met with a man who said he was approached by two people just as he arrived home and parked his car along the curb in front of his building.

As the victim was getting out of his vehicle, one of the robbers forced the man back into the driver’s seat while the other person got into the back seat of the vehicle.

The first robber held the victim at gunpoint while the second person went through his pockets. The men stole the victim’s keys and loose cash and then fled.

No one was injured in either incident.

Police did not release descriptions of the robbers in either holdup. Northern District detectives asked anyone with information to call 410-222-6135 or the TipLine 410-222-4700.
