A Glen Burnie man and a juvenile were arrested by police following a traffic stop that resulted in the discovery of a weapon and drugs, police said.
At about 2 p.m. Wednesday an Anne Arundel County police officer initiated a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of Kenan Mitchell, 20, of Glen Burnie. Mitchell was arrested after a K-9 gave officers cause to search the vehicle, discovering a .22 caliber loaded pistol, police said. A later search revealed two small bags of controlled dangerous substances, although police did not identify the type of drug.
Mitchell was charged with several firearms charges and two counts of controlled dangerous substance possession, police said.
A minor that was in the vehicle was also charged with handgun-related offenses. Police did not release any identifying information about the minor.
