Anne Arundel County police arrested two people early Thursday during a traffic spot in Brooklyn Park after officers discovered a stash of drugs and money in the car.

Officers arrested the driver, Amanda Bishop, and the passenger, Haywood Smith III, around 2:40 a.m. on Belle Grove Road near 10th Avenue. A stash of drugs was seized after a search of the vehicle, including 73 heroin/fentanyl capsules, more than 8 grams of crack cocaine, small bags of marijuana and an array of other pills as well as nearly $800 in cash, police said.

Bishop, 30, of Glen Burnie, has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and paraphernalia possession. She was previously found guilty of narcotics distribution in March 2019 and possession of five female crabs in 2011, according to online court records.

Smith, 35, of Baltimore, has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and other charges. Police also determined Smith had an outstanding arrest warrant, but it is not currently known what the warrant is for.
