A woman and her infant child were in an apartment bedroom on President Street Monday when a bullet tore through their window, Annapolis police said.

Neither the woman nor her child was hurt, police said, as gunfire erupted around 7 p.m. in the area of Eastport Terrace and Harbour House.

Bullets damaged at least four vehicles, too, according to the Annapolis Police Department.

An officer was around the 1100 block of Madison Street — near the Leron M. Fisher Community Swimming Pool — when he or she reported hearing gunshots, police said.

Police said they received several calls around the same time alerting them to the gunfire.

Officers canvassed the area and located the damaged cars, police said.

The department said they could not find anybody that was injured by the gunfire or any perpetrators.

Police encourage anyone with information to call detectives at 410-260-3439 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, Metro Crimestoppers of Maryland at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
