Man wanted for murder in Pa. charged in rape of 13-year-old Pikesville girl

A man wanted in Pennsylvania for killing two boys during a drug deal was arrested early this month by Baltimore County police and has been charged with raping a 13-year-old Pikesville girl.

John J. Gonce, 28, of Secane, Pa., who was charged in the shooting deaths of a 12- and 17-year-old in Philadelphia, was arrested outside a home on Hemison Court in Pikesville on Aug. 7, said Baltimore County police spokeswoman Elise Armacost.

Gonce was staying with a cousin when county police learned that a wanted subject was staying at the home, she said. Gonce was wanted on a felony warrant in Pennsylvania for a home invasion, Armacost said.

When officers went to arrest Gonce, she said there was a brief foot chase. Shortly after he was arrested, Armacost said the mother of the Pikesville teen told police she believed Gonce raped her daughter.

After an investigation by the county's sex crimes unit, Gonce was charged with three counts of second degree rape and sex offense for three separate incidents.

Armacost said Gonce will be adjudicated in Baltimore County and then he will be taken to Pennsylvania where he faces murder charges.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Gonce and two other men were charged in the July killings. He also faces charges in connection to a home invasion in Upper Darby, a suburb of Philadelphia, where the newspaper reported Gonce attempted to rob a man, and restrained him using an electrical cord as he searched for cash on July 22.

He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.

"He is someone we are glad to get off the street," Armacost said.
