Wednesday forecast: Partly sunny, high near 58

The National Weather Service is calling for Wednesday to be partly sunny in the Baltimore area, with a high near 58 and southwest winds between 5 and 14 miles per hour, gusting as high as 24 miles per hour.

A small craft advisory is in effect Wednesday morning for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay south of Pooles Island and the lower tidal Potomac River from Cobb Island to Smith Point. Thursday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 66 and west winds between 6 and 9 miles per hour. There is a 20 percent chance of showers after 7 a.m.

Thursday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 49 and south winds between 8 and 18 miles per hour. There is a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1 a.m.
