Tuesday forecast: Rainy, high near 53

The National Weather Service is calling for Tuesday to be rainy in the Baltimore area, with a high near 53 and south winds between 9 and 14 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

A small craft advisory is in effect Tuesday and Tuesday night for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Potomac River. Gales are possible in those areas Tuesday night.

Tuesday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 36 and south winds 14 to 17 miles per hour becoming westerly. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 40 and northwest winds between 14 and 18 miles per hour.

Wednesday night is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 28 and north winds between 4 and 7 miles per hour or less.
