UPDATE: All charges against Johnson in this case were dismissed. His record over these charges was expunged, according to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.

A Baltimore man has been charged in Anne Arundel County with sexual assault in Linthicum last week, police said. Tamango Johnson, 38, of the 1800 block of Bolton St., has been charged with rape, assault, false imprisonment, impersonating a police officer and other sex offense charges, according to a statement Tuesday from the Anne Arundel County Police Department. On the evening of Dec. 27, a woman reported being sexually assaulted at the Microtel Inn and Suites, in the 1100 block of Winterson Road, by a man she arranged to meet in her hotel room, police said. The man had handcuffs in his possession during the assault and impersonated a police officer, police said. Two days later, at about 5:30 p.m., police received an anonymous complaint from another woman staying at the same hotel. The woman told police she received a call from a man who then showed up at her door with handcuffs. The woman, having heard handcuffs were present during the previous incident, refused to let the man enter and called police. On Dec. 31, police arrested Johnson at his home for the Dec. 27 assault. According to court records, Johnson was released on bond on Nov. 24. He had been arrested in mid-November in Baltimore County and charged with assault, burglary and possessing a dangerous weapon with the intent to cause injury.
