Friday forecast: Mostly cloudy, high near 51

The National Weather Service is calling for Friday to be mostly cloudy in the Baltimore area, with a high near 51 and winds becoming southerly between 5 and 8 miles per hour.

A small craft advisory is in effect Friday afternoon for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point to Smith Point. A small craft advisory is in effect Friday night for the tidal Potomac River from Cobb Island to Smith Point and for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Smith Point.

Friday night is expected to be cloudy, with a low around 41 and south winds between 5 and 7 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 56 and west winds between 6 and 16 miles per hour.

Saturday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 42 and west winds between 7 and 10 miles per hour, becoming calm.
