90 percent chance of snow, sleet Monday night into next morning

Commuters for Tuesday morning's rush hour are likely to face a wintry mix of snow, sleet and ice.

The National Weather Service says there is a 90 percent chance the precipitation will begin late Monday night and continue into the morning. No more than an inch of snow is expected to accumulate, but it could make for slippery driving conditions, especially when combined with up to one-tenth of an inch of ice.

Temperatures are expected to rise from Monday night lows in the upper 20s to around 40 by Tuesday afternoon. As the mercury climbs, the slush will gradually become rain.
