Black Friday travel deals

What's the deal: Lots of travel providers are trying to get in on the excitement of Black Friday sales. The offers are out there, you just have to find them. Here are a few examples I've seen so far:

• The Poconos Mountain Visitors Bureau says more than 20 of its members — including golfing destinations like Woodloch Springs and Shawnee Inn — are offering savings for bookings on Nov. 26 only, from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. Deals include percentage discounts, gift cards and free items. Go to 800poconos.com/blackfridaydeals.

•IHG Hotels (Holiday Inn) offers $50 off a flight when you book at least a one-night weekend stay by Nov. 29. This deal is exclusively available on Twitter.com by following @IHG_Deals.

•Book a reservation on any Friday in November or December and get 25 percent off your stay at the Buckingham Hotel in New York. Go to buckinghamhotel.com/blackfriday.

•Gate 1 Travel, offering escorted and independent tour options, has savings of $50-$500, based on the cost of the package. Use promo code BLACKFR50 when you spend $500 or more; BLACKFR100 for $1,000; BLACKFR250 for $2,000; or BLACKFR500, for $4,000 or more. Go to gate1travel.com.

What are the savings: Discounts will vary, but it is Black Friday, so I would expect some real-deal mojo.

What's the catch: One-day-only sales, so it doesn't give you a lot of time to decide whether it's really a good deal.
