Lois D. Glick, a longtime Carroll County dance instructor and choreographer who was also a rehearsal pianist for local theater groups, died Friday of cancer at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster. She was 77.
Lois Dorothy Bratman was born and raised in Baltimore and was a 1950 graduate of Forest Park High School.
As a child, she regularly performed at the old Century Theater and as a member of Uncle Jack's Kiddie Club at the Hippodrome Theatre.
When she was in her teens, she was a soloist with the Baltimore Civic Opera and at local USO shows and musicals.
She studied music and dance at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and also with teachers in New York and Washington, family members said.
Mrs. Glick was a Westminster resident for more than 50 years, where she owned and operated a dance studio for 25 years.
She was also a choreographer and was a rehearsal pianist for both the Carroll Players and September Song.
In later years, she taught tap dancing to seniors at the Damascus and Mount Airy senior centers.
She also was an avid bridge player.
Services were Sunday.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence Glick of Westminster; a daughter, Robin G. Baum of Perryville; and two grandchildren. Her marriage ended in divorce.
