The Marine Corps Historic Half takes place 7 a.m.-11 a.m. on Sunday. It is 13.1 miles long and will have 7,000 runners. More than 20,000 are expected to be in attendance. Keep an eye out for interesting entertainment like Stardust, a miniature horse, who will be on the course to cheer runners on. Getting there

By car: The start and end of the race take place at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center.

Those coming from north of Fredericksburg should take Interstate 95 south toward Richmond. Then, take exit 130B and merge onto Plank Road/VA-3 W toward Culpeper. Turn right at Central Park Boulevard and make another right onto Carl D Silver Parkway and the center should be up ahead.

By bus or train: There is a Greyhound bus station and an Amtrak station in Fredericksburg.

Where to stay

Hotels include a Courtyard by Marriott, Fredericksburg Hospitality House Hotel, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Best Western and Quality Inn. Make sure to check for vacancies because this weekend is a busy one.
