Ultimate Baltimore Hairstylist Official Rules
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. "b's Ultimate Baltimore Hairstylist" ("the Contest") is sponsored by b free daily, 501 N. Calvert Street, P.O. Box 1377, Baltimore, Maryland 21278. The Contest will begin on May 12th, 2010 at 12:01 a.m. ET and end on June 04, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The geographical scope of this Contest is Maryland. Void where prohibited and outside Maryland. b free daily's computer is the official time-keeping device for this Contest.
2. Nomination Period: Nominated entries will be accepted starting May 12, 2010 at 12:01 a.m. ET and ending on May 21, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. ET (the "nomination period"). To nominate a hairstylist ("Hairstylist"), participants may text 70701-keyword:UltBalt, Twitter #UltBalt @bthesite, email contests@bthesite.com, or comment on bthesite.com with the name of a Hairstylist and reason why a particular Hairstylist is the best. Please note, you should nominate only individual Hairstylists, not salons or barber shops The Hairstylist must be located in Maryland. A "Hairstylist" is someone who cuts or beautifies hair and includes barbers and beauticians.
3. Limit one nomination per person. Additional nominations received from any such person, phone number, or email address thereafter will be void. No group submissions will be accepted. All nominations become the property of b free daily and will not be returned or acknowledged. Nominations are void if incomplete, not legible, or if they contain errors. b free daily is not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, or for any failed telephone or computer hardware or software, or for any lost, misdirected, postage-due, illegible, mutilated or damaged nominations, or for any failed, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or garbled transmissions or errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic, or for nominations that for any reason are not received by b free daily by the deadlines stated above. There will be a maximum of 60 nominees/Hairstylists. In the event, where more than 60 Hairstylists are nominated, the Hairstylists who are nominated the most will be included in the voting portion of the Contest. In the event of a tie, the Hairstylist or Hairstylists nominated earlier in the nomination period will be selected as the nominee(s) for the voting portion.
4. Nomination Requirements: The Hairstylist's name and business/affiliation must be included in all submitted nominations. Written entries must be your original unpublished work, must be written in English and free of any text formatting (bold, italics, etc.). Any photographs submitted must be original unpublished photographs, JPEG format only, maximum size 10 MB per photo. You may send black and white or color photos. No watermarks, signatures, or copyright notices may be added to the photos. Adding or replacing elements in any photos is not permitted. Images may be cropped and rotated as necessary as long as the rectangular format is maintained and the size is within the specifications above. Any individuals who appear in your photo must give written permission for the use of their image if their face is shown. All entries must include a title for the photo, a description of the relevance of the photo to the above theme, where and when the photo was taken, and the identity of each person who is depicted in the photo. By submitting a nomination, each participant represents and warrants that no laws were broken in the creation of the nomination (including, without limitation, the image(s), graphics or other content contained therein), and that no party other than the participant has any right, title, or interest in and to the nomination or any part of the nomination, and that the nomination has not been copied in whole from any other work, has not been previously published, does not violate the rights of any other person or company (including but not limited to privacy rights, publicity rights, trademark rights and copyrights), does not defame, libel, or slander anyone or any entity, and does not contain offensive, defamatory, vulgar, obscene or profane content. Participants agree to indemnify, defend and hold Sponsor and its affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, licensors, advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agencies harmless against any and all liabilities, losses, damages, claims, debts, investigations, fines, penalties, costs, expenses and settlements (including attorneys' fees and costs of litigation, settlement, judgment, interest and penalties) arising out of or related to a breach of the foregoing representations and warranties. Nominations that do not comply with these Official Rules or that otherwise contain prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will not be considered. Participants understand and agree that each of their nominations may be fully viewable by all persons visiting the website during the Contest.
5. Privacy Policy: If you participate in the Contest via the website at www.bthesite.com, the information that you provide in connection with the Contest may be used by b free daily in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which is found at www.bthesite.com/privacy-policy and which may be updated from time to time.
6. Selection of b's Ultimate Baltimore Hairstylist: All eligible nominees will be posted on bthesite.com from May 24, 2010 at 9:00 am until May 28, 2010 at 5:00 pm ("Public Voting Period"). During the Public Voting Period, readers and viewers will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite Hairstylist via online Contest poll. Limit one vote per person. You must be located in the United States at the time you place your vote. Subject to verification of eligibility, the Hairstylist who receives the most votes during the Public Voting Period will be declared b's Ultimate Baltimore Hairstylist. In the event of a tie, the Public Voting Period will be extended by twenty-four (24) hours and notice of the extension will be posted on bthesite.com. This process will continue as necessary until any such tie is broken.
7. Winner Notification: The verified winner will be announced in b free daily on or about June 1, 2010 or within a reasonable time thereafter.
8. b free daily reserves the right to correct typographical or clerical errors in any Contest-related materials. This includes but is not limited to corrections to production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause a change in the Contest.
9. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, other causes beyond the control of b free daily that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, b free daily reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, in which event b free daily will select the winners in accordance with the previously announced judging criteria from among all non-suspect entries received at the time of the Contest cancellation, termination or suspension. In the event Sponsor does so, Sponsor will post notice of its action on the Contest website. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit any entrant from making a nomination or voting in the Contest if, at its sole discretion, Sponsor finds such entrant to be tampering with the nomination or voting process or if such individual repeatedly shows a disregard for, or attempts to circumvent, these Official Rules, or acts: (a) in a manner the Sponsor determines to be not fair or equitable; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner.
10. No responsibility is assumed for: any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure; theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, nominations or votes; any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, hardware, or software; failure of any e-mail or electronic nomination or vote to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website; or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this Contest.
