A 34-year-old man was shot in East Baltimore late Tuesday night, according to Baltimore Police.

An officer responded at 10:47 p.m. to the 1700 block of Ashland Ave. in the Gay Street neighborhood for a report of a shooting, police said. He found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he will undergo surgery, police said. He was in good condition.
