Ted Lingelbach of Parkville was driving west on Joppa Road recently between snowstorms and spied a V of ducks or geese flying south. "In all my years I've seen ducks or geese heading north in February, but never south. Could they have been some of the hardier breed of fowl that stays north all year? If so, they might have decided they better head south because our area still has plenty of winter in store." Maybe so. Perhaps they were just fleeing the Hereford Zone in search of cornfields not buried in snow.
